The short version

There is nothing to sign up for on PhoneWise, and no email address is ever asked for or stored. You can read every page, compare any phones and run the recommendation wizard without telling the site anything about yourself.

If you just browse

Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which records which page was visited plus rough, anonymous details such as country and browser type. It sets no cookies, follows nobody between sites and builds no profile. That is the only measurement on the site.

There are no advertising scripts, no social-media trackers and no third-party tag managers here, which is also why you are not asked to dismiss a cookie banner.

The “suggest a phone” wizard

Your answers about budget and how you will use the phone are not stored anywhere. They live in the page’s own web address, which is what makes a result link shareable — the matching happens from the link itself, so there is no row with your answers in it and nothing to delete afterwards.

If you write a review

A review stores three things: the name you type in the name field, your star rating, and the text of the review. That is the whole record. No email address, no IP address, no account and no identifier that ties it to anything else you do.

Because the name field is free text that nobody verifies, treat it as a display name and put whatever you want there — a first name, a nickname, initials. Bear in mind a review is published publiclyon the phone’s page, so do not put anything in it you would not want read by a stranger. Reviews pass through an automatic word filter; anything it flags waits for a human decision before it appears.

Links to sellers

Where a price links out to a seller, that is an ordinary link: no affiliate code, no referral tracking and no commission. Once you follow it you are on their site under their privacy policy, not this one.

Who else is involved

The complete list: Vercel hosts the site and provides the cookieless analytics above, and a hosted Postgres database stores the phone catalogue along with the reviews described here. As with any web host, these providers process the ordinary technical details of a request, your IP address included, to serve pages and protect against abuse — that is infrastructure logging outside this site’s control, and it is not used here for analytics or joined to anything above.

Nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers, and nothing is sold.

Removing something

To have a review taken down, write to us from the contact page with the phone and the name on it. Since nothing identifies you, that is the only way to point at it — and it is worth knowing that it also means nobody else can prove it was theirs either.

Children

PhoneWise is a phone-buying reference aimed at general readers and is not directed at children. No age information is collected, because no personal information is collected.

Changes

If what the site records changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. If anything here does not match what you observe, that is worth telling us about.
